National Night Out:
This Tuesday

The FDA will celebrate National Night Out on August 6th in Meadow Park from 6 - 8 PM with food, a neighborhood gathering, and representatives of our city's police. Mark your calendar.

Code Enforcement - Open FDA Meeting
With City Officials

The Code Enforcement Committee has invited the Department of City Works to speak with FDA Residences about issues within the Fan on Thursday, August 1st from 6:30-7:30 PM at the FDA Office located at 208 N. Strawberry Street.

This will be a great opportunity to speak with James Jackson, Director, City of Richmond and Bobby Vincent, Deputy Director of Operations with the Department of City Works.

We look forward to seeing you at this upcoming meeting.

Free Concerts on Wednesdays

Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church is sponsoring a series of three Wednesday night concerts on Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church is hosting their annual concert series on three Wednesdays in August. All performances begin at 7 PM at 1627 Monument Avenue (between the Lee and Stuart Monuments).

August 7
American Youth Harp Ensemble and Chamber Music Ensemble

August 14
Anne O’Byrne, Soprano; David Fiske, Piano

August 28
Richard Spence, clarinet; Bryan Young, bassoon; David Fisk, piano

All performances are free of charge. Parking and the handicapped entrance are accessible from Allen Avenue or Lombardy Street. For more information, call 359-2463.

Free Animated Movies, Too

First Baptist Church is hosting free animated movies every Thursday night in August, beginning at 8:30 PM. Full details here.

City Notices: Activities for Kids,
Downtown Plaza, Customer Care Card

  • Registration for kids under age 14 for soccer, football, and cheerleading is open with the City from August 1st through 22nd. More details here
  • The City is just beginning work on a plaza downtown; this will change traffic patterns in one area. Full notice here
  • The City has released a Customer Care Card which can be found here
