Well I know they say that Christmas comes earlier and earlier but the middle of May is a tad too early for everybody I should think - apologies for the wrong tag line in my last message. I bet it caught your eye though!
However, for those of you for whom new yarn is equivalent to Christmas at any time of the year, here is a selection of my new 2016 weaving yarns. If you are confident with knitting fine singles yarn then you'll be able to knit with these yarns too.
The new yarns include:
My classic 100% Bluefaced Leicester in a range of new colours plus some repeated favourites
A brand new yarn I have dubbed "Cumbrian Tweed". It is a Bluefaced Leicester/Hebridean blend which has been overdyed to create a wonderful heathery yarn with great depth of colour and texture
An updated version of my Black Welsh Mountain/Bluefaced Leicester blend in a lovely deep grey
and "New Nevis" - a rich darker brown version of my old Hebridean Nevis blend
All of these yarns can now be purchased in hanks/skeins of 50g from my website. If you're not sure about the colours please ask for samples, I'm always happy to send them out.
If you are looking for larger quantities on cone you can now purchase many of my yarns from My Fine Weaving Yarns.
For those of you who enjoyed knitting or weaving with my 2 ply Hebridean Nevis yarn (the really dark chocolaty brown one), there is more on the way. It is being spun this week so keep any eye on my website for updates.
I will also be adding a new worsted-spun yarn to the website shortly. It is available in two natural colours: classic cream and chocolate brown. The cream is pure bluefaced leicester sourced exclusively from an organic farm in Cumbria. The chocolate is a blend of dark bluefaced leicester and black wensleydale from Hill Top Farm in Malham in the Yorkshire Dales.
Here is a peep at a baby blanket I wove earlier this year with the cream worsted yarn. It will wash and wear for many years (and babies) to come!
