From Its Inception In 1998, BuffaloGolfer Has Always Been About Community.
~Interviews continue their feature run on BuffaloGolfer. We added our second installment of "Average Joe Golfer" with William "Bill" Savino to the site, with others to follow, In addition, given the relative success of Nike Golf announcements this winter (new clubs, new pros, new shoes) we decided to get in touch with Mark Thaxton and find out what is new. Here are part one and part two of the interview.
~Some days it feels like winter; others, not so much. Snow today, gone tomorrow. Either way, residing pro Tom Tucker gets you in shape for the spring season with his winter improvement schedule. Take a glance at his tips and regimen and (with a doctor's consent, of course) show up on the first tee in the best mental and physical shape of your golfing life.
~Rico has another rant brewing. In the meantime, take a glance at his most recent diatribe: Golf, The Thinking Man's Game.
~The line is, good guys finish last. In Paul McGinley's case (and we presume that he is a good guy), he gets to be captain of the European Ryder Cup team.
~Last but not least: WE NEED YOUR MONEY! Not all of it, mind you. Not a lot of it. Not even a little. Just some. Maybe a little. A small donation helps keep our mission afloat, the one about community. We have some very loyal advertisers but we still battle to make ends meet. Thanks for considering a wee donation. Here's a link to our donation page.

Do you remember that guy whose front foot comes up on the toe, takes a wild lash at the ball, has no idea where it's usually going? You know, the guy with the smart-alecky daughter who played high school golf AND in a band? Well, now you do! meet our second "Average Joe," Buffalo lawyer William Savino. A passionate golfer with a story to tell, Bill took some time to subject himself to the painful retelling of his golfing yelps and woes. Remember, if you know someone at your club who is passionate and can finish 18 holes with golf balls on most days, tell him about us in the comment section. We'll do the rest.

The anticipation that leads up to a golf getaway is without equal. We would say "without par," but that gets overdone, over quick. With luck, Mo' Golf will find himself traversing the fairways of Pinehurst within the month. The emphasis will be on Ross, Ross and more Ross, with a bit of Coore & Crenshaw to balance the old with the new. Very few inland regions are blessed with the sandy soil found in south-central North Carolina. Given the number of public-access courses (regardless of cost), Pinehurst is a golfing destination unlike another. The trip won't be a quick strike, but it shall not last forever (or even a week.) Reviews and images will come quickly and in quantity, so stay buckled in.
