Aloha and Mele Kalikimaka!

We at Kupu hope that this Holiday Season is filled with many magical memories, time with family and friends, and the gift of rest. Thank you to each of you for all you do to support Kupu and for partnering with us to make our island home better. Kupu would not be able to do what it does without our many wonderful partners, alumni, members, volunteers, and staff. As we look back over the past year, so much has happened to be grateful for and we have so much to look forward to in the year to come. There are many wonderful updates as well as upcoming items to share and look out for.

Kupu is proud to announce a special award that we were notified about recently. Kupu was honored with an award from the USDA Forest Service at their Regional Forester's Awards in Sacramento, CA a few weeks ago. This is the first time a Hawaii organization has won this award, and Kupu is very honored and humbled to be a partner of the U.S. Forest Service and to receive this award. Kupu is also excited to welcome aboard our new CommunityU Coordinator Chris Walker, who had previously served as a Team Leader for the program. We at Kupu are always happy to have our program alumni become apart of our staff, and we look forward to growing and expanding CommunityU, RISE, and our HYCC programs as we head into this new year.

May your Christmas, New Years, and Holidays be wonderful and blessed and we look forward to connecting with you in 2014!

Aloha,
John and the Kupu `Ohana
