Radar - Young Adult Newsletter

Dear Friends,

We hope you are having an amazing fall! The weather has stuck around just a bit for us and we are here for it!
Advent will be here before we know it. The skies seem to be getting darker sooner each day. We pray that these resources help you and those you serve grow closer to Jesus in this time of your life. May this Advent be a time of deep expectation for you - knowing the certainty of Christ love for you, even in your darker days. May His light bring out that joy within your heart that you had as a child. May you know his peace deep within your heart, friends.
We are always praying for you. We really mean it. 😊

The YAM team: Drew and Yazmin

Advent is a time of expectant waiting and hopeful anticipation before Christmas. We’re waiting for God to come into our lives as a baby and watching for God’s presence in the world around us. We have listed a few things that will help you prepare for this special season that is all about preparing our hearts for the coming of Christ. How will you live Advent this year?

The global Catholic Church calls this annual celebration “World Youth Day” to remind people that every year is an opportunity to celebrate and accompany young people. However, because the term “World Youth Day” is often associated with the major international event that has taken place every two or three years since 1985, we refer to the Christ the King Sunday experience as the “Annual Celebration of Youth and Young Adults.” Please be aware of the use of this term within the Pastoral Guidelines from the Vatican Dicastery for Laity, Family and Life and recognize how it is being used.

Every single Catholic community in the world is encouraged to celebrate youth and/or young adults on Christ the King Sunday: November 21, 2021

Every parish, high school and college campus, diocese, eparchy, and ecclesial movement in the world is encouraged to do something special for the Global Celebration of Young People taking place on Christ the King Sunday 2021.

What are you planning to do this year?

National Pastoral Guidebook
To assist you in that effort, the USCCB has released a brand new resource Guidebook
(in English and Spanish) for developing local experiences for the Global Celebration, as well as some supplemental resources on its annual celebration webpage, including a brand new abbreviated (10-page) version, the liturgical guide for Christ the King, a prayer for young people, and webinars in English and in Spanish for using the Guidebook locally.
