The season is cracking along at an amazing pace and very soon the Relay season will be upon us.
The road races went very well, with good turn outs despite at times, very inclement weather.
This weekend we have The Two person relay from Parkers Cove in Tahuna. This is always fun as we get paired up on the day with someone we perhaps don't normally run / walk with. It is also the forerunner (excuse the pun) for our own MotMap Relay on the 7th September. This has 4 legs of about 6.5km and you can sort your team beforehand or turn up on the day and we'll put you in a team. I have heard that Marlborough Harriers are sending over some teams to do "battle" with us. Start times for MotMap relay 12:30pm for walking teams, 1:30pm running teams from the Saltwater baths in Motueka.
This will be a great chance to try out some combinations for those wanting to be in The Queen Charlotte relays on 21st September. We will be making of list of those interesting in participating in this iconic event as entries will be due in soon. Don't be shy, we want as many as possible to join in, and this year Fran & I will be organising the teams so contact me email@example.com if you want to be on a team. Our club pays the entry fees for the teams comprising of our members. More info on the relay here.
After Queen Charlotte, we have one more Relay as part of our relay season and this is our 2 person Relay in Richmond from Washbourn Gardens on the 28th September.
So, lots to look forward to, and fun things too. The Spring weather is upon us, so if you have been having a bit of a rest over the winter months, time to dust of your shoes, and have some fun and camaraderie by heading along to some of the events I have mentioned.
