Growing Places Fund - update

Three new projects designed to create jobs and boost economic growth have been offered the first loans from the Growing Places Fund (GPF) by HotSW.

The three projects – Matford Green Business Park, Exeter Science Park and Federal Mogul – have been offered financial assistance under the £21.5m GPF, which aims to use infrastructure projects to drive economic growth in the area.

The projects are currently undergoing final steps in the process, before formal funding agreements are signed.

£13.6m pledge for roads

Five new transport projects in Devon and Somerset have been approved by the Government, following a bid for funding by HotSW.

The new road improvement projects, worth £13.6m, have been offered money under Pinch Point Funding – a nationwide fund of £217m designed to be used at key problem points on the Highways Agency network to boost the economy, reduce congestion and improve safety.

The investment is part of a programme to remove bottlenecks and keep traffic moving on England's motorways and major A roads.
