Consultation events a success

The Heart of the South West's consultation events, held last month, were a great success.

Aimed at businesses and organisations throughout Devon, Plymouth, Somerset and Torbay, the consultation provided an opportunity to influence the partnership’s EU funding and business support agenda.

Over 300 businesses attended the events held at six venues across the area.

If you were unable to attend, you can still have your say - click here to view the presentation and find out how to give your feedback.

Since the events, we have had news of the funding allocation for the Heart of the South West area.

The allocation is less than previous budgets spent on our area, so we will have to carefully consider how to prioritise investment.

We're now in the process of developing the Strategic Investment Framework that will be used to draw down funding.  To inform this, we're also planning further online consultation events - further details will be published in future newsletters.

Business Opportunities

We are happy to advertise invitations to tender and open business opportunities in this newsletter.

If there's something you'd like to see included please let us know.

First business awarded REG

A Devon based food company called LittlePod is the first business to secure a grant from the Heart of the South West’s Rural Enterprise Grant Programme.

The money from the grant will allow LittlePod to expand other product lines as well as enlarge their offices and manufacturing space.

There's still time to apply for the grant - rural enterprises with fewer than ten employees are eligible to apply, although applicants will need to meet 60% of project costs, with the grant covering a maximum of 40%
