Summer is here!
The season of blue skies, green grass, and uhm... construction zones?

Summer is finally here, and with it comes some great new stories from dandyhorse - plus our new print issue coming soon! Unfortunately, the delightful weather also brings some inconvenient construction to Toronto streets. The City of Toronto is looking into re-vamping the current guidebook for cycling protocol in construction zones, which will hopefully enforce better signage and detours for cyclists and bring and end to dangerous and confusing maneuvering. Cyclists recently told about the woes of biking in construction zones during a Bike Spotting session and we'll have a fab fashion feature in our upcoming issue that addresses the problem of heavy metal in the bike lane.

Bike Month is upon us! With it comes some great events and festivals, such as Bike to Work day, the Reading Line, and Bike to School Week (pictured above with ALPHA school) which celebrate cycling to the max! Some amazing upcoming events that you don't want to miss: The first ever Bayview Ride, and family bike celebration with Sweet Pete's at the Evergreen Brick Works on June 14.

We also have some amazing new series' on the dandyBLOG. What's in your bike bag? is where we ask fellow dandies what their must-haves are for the road. We also have a new guest blogger, Alix Aylen, who will be writing about her epic ride from Canada to Mexico, and talk about the accessibility of cities for cyclists.

The most exciting thing about the arrival of Summer? Our new issue of dandyhorse is almost here! Due on newsstands and in our awesome sponsor shops (Sweet Pete's, Bikes on Wheels, Urbane Cyclist and Hoopdriver) at the end of the month, this issue is themed around equity: equity in the streets and equity at the polls, in housing, for women, in sports, in transit and more. It's going to be our best issue yet, so sign up now to get dandy at your door.

We've added a new twist in
addition to Bike Spotting! dandyhorse asks cyclists:
What's in your (bike) bag?
for our new series.
