Spring means Safety!

With the warmer weather fair-weather cyclists come out en masse, which also means it's time for the Toronto Police Service to begin their annual safety blitz for drivers and cyclists. Remember to stop at stop signs, use your signals and strap on your bells and lights dandies! This dandyARCHIVE photo by Molly Crealock (above) of singer-songwriter Emilie Mover seemed appropriate for this month's newsletter as she hides among the daffodils whilst a phalanx of bike cops rolls by above in Trinity Bellwoods Park. (Mover's got a CD release at the Drake Hotel on Friday, May 3).

Meanwhile, we at dandyHQ have been out around town doing Bike Spottings with cyclists and city councillors as we are busy working on our upcoming Spring Safety Issue, due out in June. These special Bike Spotting session will accompany some new research by U of T students that rates our city's wards using something called BikeScore in our upcoming sexy safety issue! We've got a lot more in store for this issue too including interviews with Jennifer Keesmaat (chief planner) and Pam Palmater (Idle No More)! Stay tuned to the dandyBLOG for more info on our launch party. (P.S. You could win a bike!!)

Find out more here.

dandySAFETY #3 - Advice from Binny
