dandyhorse on ending summer in style
Summer may be coming to a close, but cycling season is still sizzling!
September is upon us and pretty soon the days will start getting shorter. Don't fret though, fall is one of the best and most beautiful seasons for biking and dandyhorse will be featuring more great stories to end the summer in style. We've been posting stories from our new print issue on the dandyBLOG, like our great interview with Green Party leader Elizabeth May (image above by Jeff Carson) which even got picked up in the Quebec press! Also on the blog are great features from our latest print issue including our profile of trike-riding mom DJ Barbi, on raising a family and biking in the suburbs and an interview about policing public space with social justice advocate and city cyclist Desmond Cole.
Our NEW issue of dandyhorse can be found at Urbane, Sweet Pete's, Bikes on Wheels and Hoopdriver. You can buy it online here and at these independent book shops.
This month dandyhorse has been out and about Bike Spotting in prime cycling locations across the city most notably on the new Queens Quay bike lane, and Adelaide street where we asked cyclists what they think about the bike lanes extension that is in the works now. (Note: Cyclists love it!) We also interviewed the filmmaker behind Bikes vs Cars.
Upcoming events include: The Toronto Centre for Active Transportation (TCAT) 8th annual Complete Streets Forum, and Cycle 4 St. Joe's charity ride on Sept. 27. Keep checking out the dandyBLOG, as well as our Twitter and Facebook page for everything bike related!
ALSO UPCOMING: dandy will be at Word on the Street on Sept. 27 in a booth near The Walrus and THIS magazine. Come say hi! Bonuses for subscribers! Free back issue with purchase of our new issue too!
