With City Hall getting back into the swing of things, we too got down to dandy business this month.

We looked at a potential linear park called the King High Line, sat in on a meeting on an extension of the West Toronto Railpath and talked to councillor David Shiner about the Finch hydro corridor.

Our first-time cyclist series continued with our managing web editor Jenna Campbell taking on bike lanes on Richmond and Adelaide, and heading out for some butter chicken in Leslieville via Dundas and Gerrard.

dandyhorse made it to several events this month too including Sweet Pete's Liv Ladies Night, which featured cycling clinics with professional cyclists Kristen Courtney and Paolina Allan. We browsed for bicycle themed arts and crafts at the One of a Kind Christmas Show and we were on hand at the 2014 Toronto Bike Awards to honour the folks who make cycling a priority throughout the city.

David Shiner wasn't the only city councillor dandyhorse spoke with this month. We also spoke with rookie councillor Joe Cressy about his love of cycling and plans to improve cycling infrastructure around the city. There's more to come from dandyhorse when it comes to this session of council. We'll have a story about the City's new bike lane snow removal plans and more interviews with city councillors, including Josh Matlow on lower speed limits and Jaye Robinson on biking in the 'burbs.
Should the city clear the Sherbourne bike lane of snow?
In our latest Bike Spotting we headed out to the 'seperated' bike lane (aka cycle track) to ask cyclists if the route should be snow-free.
2014 Toronto Bike Awards
Several Toronto businesses and individuals were honoured for raising the profile of cycling or walking in the city and promoting infrastructure growth.
Upcoming event: #dandySANTA

At dandyhorse, we will be rolling out several winter cyclist wish list profiles as we head into the holiday season. As part of these special profiles we will announce dandy giveaways with Soulpepper theatre (you could win two tickets to see The Conjurer) and with Steam Whistle brewery (win 1 of 6 gift packs) on social media starting on Dec. 15.

Keep an eye out for #dandySANTA details here and on
 Twitter and Facebook.

#dandySANTA Q&A with Daniel Rotsztain

As part of our winter cyclist wish list series we asked Daniel Rotsztain, campaign coordinator at Charlie’s Freewheels, what he’d like #dandySANTA to bring for the holidays.

DH: What bike lane(s) do you hope dandySANTA will bring for 2015?
DR: Utopian bike lane: running alongside the boulevard in the middle of University Avenue. In Barcelona, they have a bike lane on a similarly scaled street, Passeig de Sant Joan. Realistic: Extending Richmond and Adelaide lanes further east, so that we can get closer to a Minimum Grid.
Check out all of Daniel's answers on the dandyBLOG here.
