It has been an honor to lead an agency that seeks to serve families in need; one that strengthens and restores. As Pittsburgh’s only relief nursery, Jeremiah’s Place supports parents/guardians by providing a safe haven for their children while they manage and address challenging moments in their lives.
Since we opened our doors in 2014, we have cared for over 800 children so that parents didn’t have to miss work due to school cancellations, medical and mental health emergencies, job training and even seek employment or housing.
We have been standing in the gap for 5 years, and it has been a labor of love for our staff, board, and volunteers. Founded to provide a non-judgmental center where families can feel safe leaving their little ones while they address emergent issues, we take the stigma out of seeking help, respite and support.
I am excited about the opportunities ahead of us as we grow our programs to provide more support for families, increase our outreach to ensure those that need us know that we are here, and seek new ways to address the critical issues of our families.
Our work is never done in isolation. We rely on many agencies in the community to collaborate with and provide additional supports to those that we serve. We continue to deepen these relationships and recognize the importance of working together as partners and allies.
Join us this year as we celebrate our 5th anniversary and know that we appreciate everyone that has been a part of our journey.
Onward,
Lisa J. Perry
