IOU presents Future/Past in celebration of it's 40th anniversary, with the opening of a brand new art space and a series of extraordinary multimedia shows along the Calder Valley.

Future/Past: IOU Exhibition

Thursday 23 June 2016, 5pm

IOU celebrates its 40th anniversary this year with the opening of our brand new space at Dean Clough and a series of multimedia shows along the Calder Valley. 

The doors to the new space will open on Thursday 23rd June, 5pm to 7pm, with a presentation of Speaking Tubes in the Studio as well as a unique exhibition of iconic IOU photography by Charlie Meecham in the gallery.

Future/Past: Vessel 1 & 2, The Marina, Hebden Bridge Arts Festival

 24 - 28 June 2016

As part of the 2016 Hebden Bridge Arts Festival, IOU presents Vessel 1 & 2, a three dimensional response to the frozen landscape of Antarctica. Younger visitors can take part in the Art Activity Trail. FREE
 
Future/Past: Long Division, Unitarian Church, Todmorden

24 - 26 June 2016, Artist Talks on 25 June 5pm

Long Division, a hauntingly atmospheric sound installation played through sixty speakers will be presented in the beautiful Unitarian Church. FREE.

 
Future/Past: Vortex Premiere
 
1 July and 2 July 2016, 7.30pm – 11pm

In collaboration with composer Yannis Kyriakides, IOU premieres Vortex - a live contemporary music piece performed with by musicians within the Speaking Tubes installation.

Tickets are now available through our website, starting at £6 for concessions.

IOU is looking for versatile and dedicated people to volunteer for the Future/Past events, between the 22nd June and 9th September 2016, across all three venues in Halifax, Hebden Bridge and Todmorden.
