Lights, Camera, Pitch smashed its funding target in less than 36 hours...

And now we're less than two weeks away from the print deadline, at which point rewards will become very limited.

So if you want a storytelling card game to play with your film-buff friends or your creative writing students, go to pronto. The game is $40, or 70 with a sci-fi/rom-com/superhero expansion pack.

You can also join in the fun on social media, where my friends are pitching movies based on cards I've picked. My handle is @jackheathwriter on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. The current challenge? Pitch a movie entitled Furious Machine, set in a coal mine and starring Sir Patrick Stewart.

Here's one of my favourites from Monday's challenge.

But what about books?

I know, I know. Dammit Jim, I'm a writer, not a board game tycoon. Don't worry, I'm hard at work on Liars 4 and Hangman 2 right now. Here's some cover art!
A plane crash destroys a house in Kelton.

The cause of the accident is a mystery and all the passengers are missing.

Jarli has been lying low since the crime boss known as Viper threatened his family. But then his Truth App uncovers a dangerous secret at the crash site: a secret Viper wants to stay buried.

Suddenly Jarli is a target again. There is no one he can trust, not even the police. He has to find out what else Viper is hiding before it is too late.

Lies can hurt, but the truth can kill...

Hunter (ANZ) / Just One Bite (America) is the shocking, fast-paced and queasily funny follow-up to the international bestselling thriller, Hangman.

Timothy Blake, a former consultant for the FBI, now moonlights in body disposal for a local crime lord. One night he stumbles across a body he wasn’t supposed to find. When the FBI calls Blake back in to investigate the man’s disappearance, Blake is the only one who knows the man is dead and in his freezer.

Then another man goes missing. And another. And another.

There’s a serial killer in Houston, and Blake is the only one who knows it for sure. As they hunt the killer together, his handler, FBI agent Reese Thistle, starts to warm to Blake—but she also gets closer and closer to discovering his own gruesome secret. This is cause for anxiety for the criminal kingpin who employs Blake. It would be better to murder Blake than to risk exposure.

Can Blake uncover the killer, without exposing himself?

And if you're near Canberra...

I'll be doing a bunch of events between now and 2019. Here are a couple of the highlights:
