Call for Nominations - Deadline Feb 17

Only one more day to submit your nomination to run for council in our 2016 General Election! The deadline is February 17 at midnight MST. 
 
If you are interested in helping
to shape your AU experience, consider becoming an AUSU councillor!

Nominations are being accepted from NOW until February 17. 

All nine council seats are open for nominations. AUSU councillors serve for a two-year term.

All candidates must agree and adhere to the principles in the AUSU Election Policy 3.01 and the Nomination Package 
Campaign Period & Election Forum
 
The official candidates for the AUSU 2016 General Election will be announced on February 22, 2016. Once they are announced, you will be able to check out the candidates and their biographies on our website here.

Candidates can campaign from February 22 to March 14, 2016. Be sure to read the campaign rules in the AUSU Election Policy 3.01

We will also be hosting an Election Forum, which all students are welcome to join. This is the perfect place to ask questions of the candidates and find out more about them! Please make note of the forum rules before posting. 
Voting Period 

The AUSU General Election voting period is March 11 to March 14, 2016

AUSU is using the online voting system, Simply Voting. All AUSU members will be emailed their official ballot on March 11. You will be provided with a link to the ballot, your voter ID number, and a password to access the ballot. All votes are completely confidential.

Executive Election 
 
Once the new council is elected, they will hold an internal executive election. The thee executive seats will be chosen from among the nine councillors-elect. The executuve election will be held during a regular meeting of council on March 31, 2016 at 4:30pm MST (tentative pending any election appeals)

The executive positions consist of the President, the VP External and Student Affairs, and the VP Finance and Administration.

Council Changeover

The council changeover meeting will be held at an AUSU council meeting on Thursday, April 14 at 4:30pm MST.

Meetings are held by teleconference. All members are welcome to attend!
