AUSU's New Executives!

Our new AUSU council was elected during the March 2016 General Election. As per AUSU bylaws and policies, the newly elected council held an internal election for three Executive positions on March 31, 2016. The results are in!

President - Shawna Wasylyshyn

VP External and Student Affairs - Brandon Simmons

VP Finance and Administration - Kim Newsome

All three elected executives have served in these roles in the past. With their combined experience and a new full council taking office on April 14, it is sure to be a successful year at AUSU! Stay tuned for more info about our council to come!

Student Spotlight on Michelle McNair

Michelle McNair recently won one of AUSU's Academic Achievement Awards.

Michelle is currently enrolled as a non-program student.  She started her studies at AU in 2003 and completed her 4-yr BA in psychology in 2008 (with great distinction).  Michelle also has a B.Sc. in human biology from the University of Western Sydney, Australia (2000).  She is married and has been raising her two sons with autism while continuing her studies.  She loves the flexibility of distance education. Michelle intends to enroll in a Masters in counselling psychology program next year.  She is very interested in children’s and adult mental health, having a deep personal connection in both areas.

Congratulations on your accomplishments, Michelle. We wish you success in your studies!
