QUIZ:
FIRST AND SECOND WORLD WAR QUIZ
Remembrance Day (11th November) and Remembrance Sunday are observed in memory of those who lost their lives in the World Wars. The tradition was begun by King George V in 1919, to signify the end of First World War hostilities in 1918, known as Armistice Day.

Whilst we remember the horrors and suffering of war, we also remember the achievements of ordinary people who came together to care for each other and their country, with community spirit and hard work.
Take our quiz below to brush up on your history of WWI and WWII.
1. c) 1917
2. b) The Olympic Park
3. a) 'Play the greater game'
4. c) 950,000
5. b) 3pm

DISABILITY HISTORY
Disability History Month (16th November - 16th December) celebrates the achievements of people with disabilities and acknowledges the systemic challenges many have faced throughout history and today.
Our project 'Working with Disability' focuses on the experiences of people with disablities in workshops and factories in East London, such as Remploy and Newco. Remploy factories were set up after WWII and had a majority disabled workforce, which included many wounded soldiers. Through a modern lens, many find these factories controversial as we have moved towards making mainstream workplaces more inclusive and accessible. However, many former employees share their positive experiences.
