LOCAL HISTORY MONTH:
EASTENDERS QUIZ
Our archives tell the real stories of East Londoners, but to celebrate Local History Month we're looking at the TV show EastEnders, and the local places that inspired it.
We all know and love EastEnders for its dramatic cliffhangers, iconic one-liners  and unforgettable theme tune. The soap first aired in 1985 and has been on our tellies ever since. Although it is set in a fictional borough called Walford, it’s inspired by a mixture of familiar locations in East London.
The show creators took inspiration from a real-life Albert Square near Maryland Station in Stratford, which once even had its own Queen Vic pub! See how well you know the real EastEnders by taking our quiz below.
ANSWERS:
1. 20
2. E20
3. The Albert House
4. She was the first person to complete a medicine degree without animal experiments
5. Iron Maiden
