THE PRESIDENT OF THE STATE OF ISRAEL SHOWS HIS SUPPORT FOR 9ADAR: JEWISH DAY OF CONSTRUCTIVE CONFLICT

Please join us in thanking the President of Israel, Reuven Ruvi Rivlin, for his support of 9Adar by liking his Facebook post and leaving a comment.

BE ONE OF 3,000 PEOPLE AROUND THE WORLD COMMITTING TO DISAGREE MORE CONSTRUCTIVELY!

Now more than ever, there is a need to strengthen our Jewish culture of healthy and constructive disagreements both for the sake of Heaven and for the sake of our democracies, especially as Israel prepares for its elections. There is a growing feeling, in both Israel and around the world, that too many of our disagreements are stuck, strictly personal and overall intractable, leading to wider and deeper social rifts. Disagreements when managed constructively, however, are at the core of ensuring healthy and dynamic relationships, communities and cultures.

Approximately 2,000 years ago, on the 9th of Adar, some sources say 3,000 students of Hillel and Shammai died. Why? Because they ceased to "disagree for the sake of Heaven." One wish for 9Adar today is for 3,000 people to declare “I, too, commit to disagree more constructively.”
I too Commit for 9Adar...
To participate, take a picture of yourself, family, school, community, or organization holding a sign that says, "I, too, commit to disagree more constructively! How about you? #9Adar" and share it on Facebook and/or Twitter using #9Adar. Tag a few friends so they consider passing it on, too.
