Dear WIN’ners!

We hope this newsletter finds you well and ready for our beautiful May flowers. May will also bring other changes as we'll see some businesses slowly start to bloom again as they reopen with new physical distancing guidelines. This has been an incredibly hard time for small businesses everywhere so we want to remind everyone of the importance of supporting and shopping at our local stores and restaurants. Have you signed up for your summer CSA yet? Commondeer, a female founded store in Burlington only selling made in the US items, has started a petition called Believe in Small Business and Fight for Us today. Please consider signing and sharing.

Our move to virtual events has been a little silver lining for us as we have welcomed many new faces from as far as Utah to our events. We're continuing to plan more events and look forward to seeing many of you online tomorrow at 5:15 to hear Krista and Caitlin from ZAFA Wines tell their story. Sign up details are below in case you haven't signed up yet. Please feel free to join us tomorrow with your own glass of wine and sometime, in the near future, let's hope we can all make a toast together with a glass of ZAFA wine!

Be well,

Janice, Laury and Louisa

Entrepreneur Story: Meet Krista Scruggs and Caitlin Braam of ZAFA Wines

Date: Thursday, April 30th
Time: 5:15 pm to 7:00 pm
Location: Zoom, link will be sent prior to event

We're excited to have Krista Scruggs and Caitlin Braam of ZAFA Wines join us to tell their story.   ZAFA Wines has become one of the pioneers in the "New American" wine revival, focusing on hybrid grapes in Vermont. Making waves with its traditional methods, ZAFA is reframing the conversation around sustainability and farming in wine.  They We create wines, ciders, co-fermentations and blends of apples and grapes using native fermentation and a 0/0 ethos (no fining, filtering or additives). With a focus on sparkling, ZAFA uses only biodynamic and organic fruit, including hybrid grape varietals and wild apples. Retailing at $43 per bottle, ZAFA Wines introduces 10-14 new releases per year with sold out releases and pre-allocated distribution.  They’ll be time for Q&A with Krista and Caitlin, and after our conversation we’ll leave time to talk about the story and opportunity to support this emerging woman owned company.  We’ll leave time for “open topic” discussion, meaning what’s on your mind related to investing, COVID 19, or whatever’s on your mind.  This meeting is free and open to any women and gender non-conforming people who want to learn more about how women in business and investing can bring positive change to this world.
And in anticipation of 4/30, here’s a link to a great video featuring Krista Scruggs, the founder and this link on their website showing the national press Krista and ZAFA have already received despite their early stage.

No Cost to Attend, but Pre-registration is Required. We will email you the Zoom link information.
