We are in unprecedented times that will require patience, diligence and understanding to successfully adapt to our new lives over the next days, weeks and possibly months. We've moved our upcoming events online so we can continue our learning, grow our network and connect with each other. Check out what we have planned below. Hope to see you online!

VT WIN March Meeting
March 31st 8:30 - 10:30 am

Online, Zoom

The Next Gen and Wealth Transfer: A Conversation about Equitable Distribution of Wealth, Land, and Power

Building on the theme of the economic power that we have as women, we thought a logical next step is to connect with our next generation of young people who are doing the work in building a world in which we have a more equitable distribution of wealth, land and power. Join us on March 31 via Zoom for a conversation with Lane Fury of the Cooperative Fund of New England (CFNE) where we will talk about the work of cooperative finance and Resource Generation, a multiracial membership community of young people (18-35) with wealth and/or class privilege committed to the equitable distribution of wealth, land, and power.  LANE FURY joined the CFNE team in 2017 as a loan and outreach officer covering Vermont and New Hampshire. After graduating from the University of Washington in 2012, Lane began diving into alternative finance as a collective member of Regenerative Finance and member leader with Resource Generation, and then working in microfinance at a Community Development Financial Institution in Vermont for two years.

As always, there will be time for a discussion and sharing ideas.

Agenda for Online Event:

  • 8:30am -  Log into Zoom, make sure audio working etc.
  • 8:35am - WIN intro, short introductions
  • 8:45am – Lane Fury and building the next generation of financial activists
  • 9:40 am – Open topics
  • 10:00am – Wrap up

Northern New England (NNE) WIN Event 4/8
A Discussion on Revenue Based Financing.  It's Not Your Grandmother's Financing Scene Anymore!

Date: Wednesday, April 8
Time: 12pm to 2pm
Location: Capital Commons, Concord, New Hampshire
Please feel free to bring your own bag lunch. Drinks provided.

On February 4, 2020, the NNE WIN featured a webinar with Luni Libes of Investor’s Circle and Fledge who discussed alternatives that break out of the traditional paradigm of investing equity in a business that requires an exit or sale. Luni introduced the novel structures for investing that include revenue-, dividend-, and royalty-based investments used around the world today.

As a follow-up to the webinar, we’re pleased to have Janice St. Onge of the Flexible Capital Fund and John Hamilton of NHCLF’s Vested for Growth program, join us in Concord, NH for an open conversation royalty financing, also known as revenue based financing. Both the Flex Fund and VfG have been using RBF structures for over a decade as a way to invest in growing Vermont and NH companies seeking risk capital that doesn’t require ownership dilution or unicorn returns. Janice & John will talk about their experience using RBF, when it can be a viable alternative to equity investment, and the challenges and opportunities RBF provides for investors.

Check out the following as a primer on RBF:
Q&A: Flexible Capital Fund Invests in Farm Products, Food, and Forestry.”
Freeing Revenue-based Financing from the Equity Mindset”
