and So Are the Holidays!
Yarns in the Farms is open for in-person shopping: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 10am - 2pm and Saturday from 11am - 5pm. Our online shop remains open as well and we're still shipping and doing contactless pickups. Please, don't hesitate to reach out to us if we can assist in any way.

[NB: Unless otherwise specified, yarn, needle, accessory, and book links/images will take you to our website and pattern links/images will take you to Ravelry.]

Eek! We know, we know, the calendar just turned to fall and we're already talking about winter. But... it's time for us to put on our tri-corner hats, mount up on our horses, and do our best Paul Revere impressions - "The holidays are coming, the holidays are coming!"

That's right, Crafty Countdown is back! It's 8 weeks until Hannukah and 12 weeks until Christmas and Kwanzaa and it's time to start making those holiday gifts if you haven't already. (Hey, some people thrive on a deadline...)

If you're a long time reader, you'll know that every week we'll show you a new pattern or category of project along with the yarns we carry to go along. If you're a newer subscriber (welcome!), get ready to add some items to your Ravelry library and cast on all the gifts! As usual, we'll travel through yarn weights and degrees of difficulty as we approach the final moments of the countdown.

Let's get to it!

Since we've just turned the crafty page into Sock-tober, let's consider some sock patterns this week.

Want to use fingering weight?

Diamonds in the Light and Mont Blanc Socks (top row) are knit and The Alice Sock and Ankle Socks (bottom row) are crochet. We recommend Premium Bamboo, Nimbus, Practically Perfect Sock, and any of our Regia 4-ply yarns for these options.

Want to knit up a pair a little faster? Go for worsted weight.

These are both knit - Easy Peasy Socks for First-Timers and Cozy Chillin' Socks. Amp up these simple patterns with Regia's winter worsted sock yarn - Snow Color 8-ply, a self patterning wonder.

We've been playing around with colors for some of the projects in MDK Field Guide No 19 - Marls.

For the throw:

Need help picking out your own color combo? Come visit! It's one of our favorite things to do.

The Winter edition (Issue 39) of PomPom Quarterly is available for pre-order!

The patterns in this issue are inspired by rhythm - think echoes, sound waves, and musical scores. There are 6 sweaters, 2 pair of mittens, a hat, and a pair of socks. Want to take a peek at all of them? Click here to see them all on Ravelry.

Berroco Project of the Week
(Yarn and pattern links in this section will take you to Berroco's pages for the design and the yarn.)

Cozy Cardigan Alert

This is Keeler, an easy wearing, oversized cardigan that has excellent details - I mean, pockets! What's not to like?

Written for sizes from 40" to 72", the recommended positive ease for this project is 6-10".

Knit on US size 9 & 10.5 needles, Keeler is made with Berroco Ultra Wool Chunky (a shop favorite!). Not only does it come in lots of great colors, it's machine washable to boot!

Ultra Wool Chunky retails for $12/ball and you'll need anywhere from 8 to 16 balls depending on the size you choose.

As always there is an additional $7 shipping charge for these drop ship orders so Berroco can send them straight to your door.

Want to order one of these kits? Go to Berroco's pages for the design and yarn to check out the details and choose your size and color (clicking on the links/pictures above will take you straight to them!). Then click here and send us an email. We'll be in touch to confirm your information and process your payment.

Is there an older Project of the Week that you're still thinking about? We can likely still get it! Check the Berroco 1-2-3 Dropship Store to figure out all the details and then use the email link above to send us a message.

We have to skip “Distractions” this week due to a wee bit of internet trouble… they’ll be back next week (hopefully)!

Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday: 10am - 2pm
Saturday: 11am - 5pm

Our webshop remains open 24-7-365 and we offer curbside pickup and shipping via USPS.
