Still Counting Down...
Yarns in the Farms is open for in-person shopping: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 10am - 2pm, Saturday from 11am - 5pm, and Sunday from 1-5pm. Our online shop remains open as well and we're still shipping and doing contactless pickups. Please, don't hesitate to reach out to us if we can assist in any way.

[NB: Unless otherwise specified, yarn, needle, accessory, and book links/images will take you to our website and pattern links/images will take you to Ravelry.]

You've already heard this all over the place but supply chain woes are affecting retailers large and small around the globe - including us. Most of our suppliers have been very good about keeping us informed of low stock or delayed delivery situations but some of these pop up out of the blue too.

If you see something you love in one of our emails or when you're in the shop, we highly recommend snapping it up quick. These days we don't have any way to guarantee that any item will be back in stock again in a timely fashion and we certainly don't want anyone to be disappointed that they can't get their hands on an item they really wanted.

Shopping small (business) in our communities is a great way to make sure you get your gifts on time and gives small retailers a much needed boost in sales after a very tough 20 months. We love being your LYS and look forward to seeing you all as gifting season kicks in to high gear.

Now, on to the good stuff!

Out on Thursday...

Crafty Countdown - Week 6!

Since there's still time to make a pair of "somethings", let's take a look at sport weight mittens this week. Gift them to the family member or friend who lives out the motto "cold hands, warm heart" and help them thaw out their icicle fingers on the daily.

To Knit (top to bottom, left to right): Fiddlehead Mittens, Two Rivers, The Colour Celebration Mittens

To Crochet (top to bottom, left to right): Cloud Mittens, Roma Mittens, Dreckly Mittens

All of these would be spectacular in any of the sport weight yarns we have on our shelves - click here to head over to our website to see them all.

As long as we're on the topic of mittens...

Woolstok 150g Restock!

Last week we showed you the newest color in the Woolstok 150g skein family. Don't remember? Here's a refresher...

That's "Loon Lake" in all its 370 yard glory.

What we didn't mention is that we were able to restock on most of the other colors available in the big 150g skeins too.

We love this yarn for making absolutely everything. It works on needle sizes from US 3 up to US 9 and is a workhorse that comes in so many super colors.

One of the Woolstok patterns Tracy is currently obsessing over is the "Gresham Wrap".

This blanket shawl/wrap takes 2 large 150g skeins of the main color and 7 50g skeins in different contrasting colors.

Want some color combo ideas? Stacie played with the paintbox of Woolstok and came up with these lovelies:

Do you want to make one? Come pick out your favorite color combo and we'll get you the pattern on us (for the rest of November).

Berroco Project of the Week
(Yarn and pattern links in this section will take you to Berroco's pages for the design and the yarn.)

A cozy fall layer? Yes, please!

This is the "Dhener" ruana.

Who needs a little extra something to keep warm these days? This project of the week may be just the thing. A ruana is like a secret blanket, a poncho without arm holes, a cardigan without sleeves. Drapey and flowy it's great with jeans at home or dressed up to go out somewhere. Still rocking pandemic-style with leggings and a top? Throw this on over it and be ready to run out to the store, head to book club, or pick the kids up from school.

Dhener is knit up in shop favorite Berroco Mercado. We adore this yarn for it's loft and bounce and know it will look simply spectacular in the cables, bobbles, and garter stitch of this design. Since this is 100% not a fitted design, there are 3 options for sizes - 26", 30", and 34" wide (double those numbers for a full body circumference). You'll also need US size 10.5 needles for this project.

Mercado now comes in 20 beautiful colors. We have some of them on the shelf at the shop so come on over if you want to check out the yarn before placing your order.

There is an additional $8 shipping charge for these drop ship orders so Berroco can send them straight to your door.

Want to order one of these kits? Go to Berroco's pages for the design and yarn to check out the details and choose your size and colors (clicking on the links/pictures above will take you straight to them!). Then click here and send us an email. We'll be in touch to confirm your information and process your payment.

Is there an older Project of the Week that you're still thinking about? We can likely still get it! Check the Berroco 1-2-3 Dropship Store to figure out all the details and then use the email link above to send us a message.

"Knitting Banksy" would prefer to remain anonymous despite the popularity of her post-box toppers and the appearance of a knitted soldier in time for Remembrance Day (UK). Another memorial in Canada has 33,000 knit poppies and one woman crocheted 260 poppies to adorn a memorial in her own town.

Crocheted chicken sweaters? Yep, a real thing.
