#interviewoftheweek GO WITH THE FLOW WITH FRANKY RIZARDO Over the last few years, Franky Rizardo has taken a hugely refreshing approach to house music which has been paying dividends in a big way. Having established himself as one of the biggest draws in Holland’s house music circuit, he’s now rapidly expanding his horizons across the world. Releases on OFF, Defected and Spinnin’ demonstrate an increasingly strong production career, while his Flow radio show and events are fast becoming a major part of the house music landscape across the world.
#midweekshowdown WAIFS & STRAYS One of the most consistent duos in the UK in recent years has been Waifs & Strays. The Bristol act always deliver great house music, whether it’s bumping Chicago style jams on Madtech or deep and dark cuts on labels such as Resonance. Sadly, Waifs & Strays recently became a solo act after one half, Rich Beanland, started to have problems with his ears. The good news is that Amos Nelson, the remaining member, is keeping the Waifs & Strays name very much alive and he’s doing a sterling job of flying the Waifs & Strays flag in 2015 and beyond! In one of the most anticipated acts to visit Bali this November this is one Thursday night midweeker not to be missed at Bali's house music institute Jenja.
When a new Lane 8 tune appears on the www the Bali Clubbing office has all paid immediate attention as we know this is melodic deep house in its finest form, that's without even listening to the first few seconds. Lane 8's tunes are always infectious while the standard of production is a lesson for all studio geeks, both beginners and professionals alike. Our pick here is of course the original but for the tech lovers check out the Yotto remix. Expect everyone to be signing along to this one at a dance floor near you! 6/5. DRW.
#epoftheweek JONAS RATHSMAN N E W G E N E R A T I O N
Swedish producer JONAS RATHSMAN already turned headsthanks to a couple of impressive tunes released on imprints like French Express or Disclosure's Method White platform - offerings that got him notable BBC Radio 1 support from Pete Tong, who went on to tip Jonas as a "future star". Still, his KX release NEW GENERATION / CONIUM holds all the sweeping enthusiasm and momentum that you'd normally hear in a true debut. The first track is a particularly strong entry point to Jonas' definition of dance, wrapping a heady bassline around some kinetic beats 'n' bells action, while the flipside keeps its mojo afloat with a polynomial tapestry of colorful synth riffs and propulsive effects. Another one for the books from KX & Jonas Rathsman.

Now, thanks to Google, built-in MIDI support is available in the Web browser, opening up a raft of creative possibilities. Check out this exciting news and possibly the best geek inovation for music producers to happen in 2015.
