MIND AGAINST
CONCRETE MUSICAL IDENTITY

Etching a musical partnership that draws from the combined roots of IDM, house and techno, Mind Against are the Italian native but Berlin based project of Alessandro and Federico Fognini. They carved a path for themselves with a series of three EP’s on Life and Death. Their debut “Atlant”, the follow up “Avalon” and the latter “Strange Days” were let loose to critical acclaim.  2015 came with a celebratory occasion marked by a collaborative EP with Belgian producer Locked Groove, released on Scuba’s Hotflush Recordings. The biggest cliché of a “sound that’s hard to pin down”, is realer than gravity when it comes to Mind Against. They coax on psychedelic hooks of the 1980s and dance floor anthems bound traditionally to european soil. This backdrop makes for releases and performances that do well against any canvas.
SASHA SIBLER
SOMETIMES EVEN MORE

Sascha Sibler's first globally recognized EP was in 2010 together with Santé titled 'Freak Summer'. A year later he celebrated further with the 'Color of Love / Fantasy EP'  co-produced with Augsburg's house music hero Daniel Bortz taking both there names to much greater levels. The global hype immediately began to rise amongst the Resident Advisor charts and the B-side track, Fantasy  was signed to Seth Troxler's lateest compilation 'TheLab03'. More recently Sascha has excelled further with colleague Daniel Bortz  with his Young World EP courtesy of Berlin natives Âme and Dixon's Inner Visions recordings. A label infamous for its high-quality releases acrredited as one of the best five House labels in the world. Are you to Koh? We are this weekend!

H.O.S.H

H.O.S.H. is Hamburg's Holger Behn, an artist who has spent much of his career releasing EPs and LPs on Diynamic, the label he helped make famous alongside close friend Stimming and boss man Solomun. His sound is fresh tangling between techno and house & has taken him all over the world to DJ residencies across Ibiza and festivals big and small on just about every continent. Fast forward to May 2016 and My favourite robot lands his services with 3 tracks of cosmic and colourful music wizardry. Our pick of the bunch is the main room bomb that is 'Meloman.' Twinkling keys and sweeping pads it is a truly expansive journey hitting all the right notes with infectious drums that drive it from start to finish. DRW 10/10.

JAMIE JONES FEAT HERO TWINS
L A N D  O F  T H E  G I A N T S

Another Jamie Jones release, another collaboration and yet again another reason to strengthen the strong hold Jamie Jones has on how to write forward thinking house music. Land of the Giants is a compact and emotive ride that is eerie yet futuristic filled with vocal chops and clever drum patterns which gives this the Jamie Jones signiture of innovation. Throw in the B side 'shoplifter' for some quirky dancefloor quality and once again our favourite Welshman has taken out our recommended tune of the week once again! Grab it now courtesy of Emerald City Music and remember kids downloading music without paying is stealing the artists hard work. 6/5 DRW
WANKELMUT- OPPOSITE ALTERNATIVES
For his 24th birthday, in December of 2011, the Berlin DJ Wankelmut aka Jacob Dilssner added his sound-cloud touch to his bootleg remix of Asaf Avidan. Under the name „Reckoning Song / One day“, the title conquered the charts and, according to the Media Control Single Charts, reached 1st place, and the double platinum status in Germany. The legendary remix was placed number one of Single Charts in eight European countries. It was the most downloaded track of Beatport 2012 and an Airplay Hit all over Europe. Looking back, 1,5 million Singles were sold, and it was played 150+ million times on Youtube. At the end of 2012 the famous Electronic Music Magazine GROOVE distinguished him as the „Newcomer of the year“ and now the rest is history and just a small part of the Wankelmut success story that brings his path to Jenja on May 27
ALY & FILA  - AS HOT AS THE SAHARA
As hot as the Sahara and standing every bit as tall as pyramids, they’re the single most successful group to have emerged from the spiritual lands of Egypt. From the Med to the Red and from up high in Cairo, to down deep in the Sinai, they’ve built an immense, ultra-loyal in-country following, From that foothold turntable Shamans, Aly Amr Fathalah and Fadi Wassef Naguib went global. With their career-launching Egyptrance releases (inc. ‘Eye of Horus’ and ‘Spirit of Ka’) through to latter-day master-blasters like ‘We Control The Sunlight’, their production credentials are only now matched by their spinning ones. Ranked as one of the 20 biggest DJ acts in EDM (source: DJ Magazine Top 100 DJs 2012), they delight crowds now numbered annually in the millions, bringing their inimitable sound to the world’s most prestigious clubs and festivals. No mirage, no illusion - this is Aly & Fila.
R.I.P. NIKKOS : BALINESE WAVE DESTROYED

Yesterday a disturbing image did the rounds on Instagram. It showed a fabled southern Balinese wave – a favourite among the local boys including Marlon Gerber, Lee Wilson and Mikala Jones – a fun looking right peeling off in the frame. The disturbing part? Also visible in the shot is a recent extension of a purportedly legally dubious rock wall/groyne, which juts out into the lineup, potentially damaging/destroying the wave.
The scale and pace of what many consider to be illegal and corrupt construction taking place along Bali’s southern coastline has long been a bone of contention among the majority of the Balinese community. They despair, as the Island is chipped away and reshaped, becoming unrecognisable before their very eyes.
STOP OUTSIDE THE YELLOW BOX - NEW BALI ROAD RULES.

Some 32 traffic intersections in and around Bali’s capital have undergone a minor transformation with the installation of Yellow Box Junctions.Just a few of the intersections with the criss-cross of yellow lines now in place are Kamboja-Hayam Wuruk, Nusa Indah-WR Supratman, Nusa Indah-Kecubung and Simpang Gatsu. But many motorists still remain confused as to the purpose and function of the new Yellow Box Junction. As reported by NusaBali, the chief of traffic control of the Denpasar Transportation Office, Nyoman Sustiawan, confirmed that the new Yellow Box Junctions began being installed in April 2016. Their function, he explained, is to reduce the occurrence of gridlock at busy intersections.
