IYNF NEWS

Planning Weekend – Call for Participants!

IYNF is officially accepting applications for the upcoming Planning Weekend – Resilient Youth, Resilient Planet – from 21-26 October, in the Naturefriends’ house Feldberg, near Freiburg, Germany. Representatives of IYNF member and partner organisations will meet to exchange ideas, network and brainstorm on the upcoming projects and future developments of the Young Naturefriends network.
The programme will include a conceptual part focused on case studies of resilience, city activism, transition movements and other ways in which youth can address urban outdoors to make a positive impact on a global scale. Meanwhile, the practical part will provide space for project planning and guided networking of the member organisations – mainly intended to promote cooperation and strengthen the relations among the IYNF partners and members – and it will be complemented with information about possibilities offered by different European funding opportunities and IYNF network as well. You can find more information and apply here before 31 August.

IYNF Carrying Naturefriends Values across Europe

In August we will be leaving the cosiness of our office in Prague and will be out there spreading Naturefriends values through different places in Europe:

Off the Grid Work Camp, Frankfurt – 16-30 August. Organised by IYNF volunteers, this international camp will provide an opportunity to learn, explore and share ideas about resilience and self-governance, while going completely ‘off the grid’. Rebuilding a 99 year old Naturefriends’ house will be one of the main highlights of the project.

The Way Is the Goal, Zurich – 16-23 August. The second IYNF training course of 2014 will focus on sharing, practicing and developing methods and principles for working with groups in the mountains that will reflect the values of the Naturefriends movement, of sustainable tourism in general and respect for nature in particular. Especially designed for those who already are or want to become hiking instructors or outdoor group leaders.

IYNF at the Sziget Festival, Budapest – 11-18 August. EVS volunteers from IYNF Secretariat and Hungarian Naturefriends will join forces once more to disseminate the Naturefriends values of respect, solidarity and love and care for nature, around the NGO Island in Sziget, one of the most renowned music events in Europe. We hope they will raise awareness among the festival-goers, as well as encourage them to make their life more sustainable and positive for the environment.

EYE 2014 Final Report Is Out
The 5th edition of the European Youth Event brought 8,000 young people to the European Parliament to discuss ideas for a better Europe.

The next one is happening on the 7th of August and it will suggest simple solutions for buying less and it will give a new life to clothes, jewellery, newspapers and many other objects.
