IYNF Presents New Secretary General

Drumroll please… IYNF is glad to present the new Secretary General Esther Vallado from Spain! Qualified Environmental Scientist and Natural Resources Management Technician, she has been developing a long-term passion for nature since her childhood. This is not Esther’s first touch with IYNF though; she already took part in a few IYNF activities, besides she is member of the IYNF Pool of Trainers and also the founder of Biodiversa, our partner organization. Travelling To Developing Countries

Tourism is growing and especially in developing countries. Mystic cultural rituals, ancient traditions, simple life and apparently untouched nature are part of the picture many people have in their mind when thinking of a vacation in Ecuador, Nepal or the Maldives. Unfortunately the mass tourism entails considerable environmental issues and damages the local community.
On the 5th article of “Green Travelling”, Sabrina Grape explains what every traveller should be aware of in order to travel in a more sustainable and respectful way.

Anti-CETA and TTIP Demonstrations in Germany

On the 17th of September, 320.000 people protested against the infamous free trade agreements CETA and TTIP in seven big cities of Germany. Our e-volunteer and member of the Young Naturefriends of Baden - Philipp Schäfer - shares his testimony from the demonstration in Stuttgart that gathered 40,000 people! Read more here.



How to Travelling Sustainably 
On the occasion of World Tourism Day on 27 September, a few organizations including Naturefriends International (NFI) presented an updated version of the "guide through the tourism label jungle, which aims to promote sustainable tourism development. Read more here.



GIAN-Gio Second National Meeting

The second Italian Young Naturefriends’ national meeting took place on 8-11 September, in Brescia in the north of Italy. The activity celebrated “The spirituality of nature”, through sharing, mutual understanding and awareness, enhanced by the natural frame of the Italian landscape. Read more here (in Italian).

Naturefriends Greece Comprehensive Study on TTIP

Nature Friends Greece has casted a new study on the impact of TTIP on Greek Democracy, Economy and Society. They conducted a survey with the collaboration of two research teams - the Laboratory of Applied Economics and Development of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and the Alternative Trade Network. Planet at its Hottest in 115,000 Years

Global warming is said to be bringing temperatures last seen during an interglacial era, when sea level was 6-9 meters (20-30ft) higher than today. The global temperature has increased to a level not seen for 115,000 years, requiring daunting technological advances that will cost the coming generations hundreds of trillions of dollars. Polish Women Strike against Abortion Ban

Thousands of women in Poland have gone on strike in protest against proposals for a total ban on abortions. They marched through the streets wearing black as a sign of mourning for their reproductive rights. Women who oppose the ban are staying away from work and school and refusing to do domestic chores, in a protest inspired by a women's strike in Iceland in 1975. Read more.


International Day Against Fascism and Antisemitism

Every year, to commemorate the “Kristallnacht” pogrom of 1938, UNITED coordinates the International Day Against Fascism and Antisemitism on 9 November, inspiring NGOs, community organizations, schools, municipalities and individuals alike to join forces and confront hate with direct action. This year’s campaign is focused on the theme of Human Rights Superheroes. Read more here.
