Taking Energy Conservation to the next level
Advancing Deep Home Energy Retrofits in our Community

Deep home retrofits are required in order to achieve net-zero emissions by 2030 in the Halton community, and they have the capacity to enhance home comfort and reduce home energy costs. 

This past year, Halton Environmental Network completed a feasibility study that explored the role of social purpose organizations in helping to advance deep home energy retrofits in the Halton community. This study provides an enhanced understanding of what it will take to accelerate building upgrades and retrofits to make our community more resilient to climate change.

  1. Create collaborative partnerships among key stakeholders within the sector
  2. Ensure authentic services and positive outcomes to build trust in the market

  3. Develop a simple, clear, and accessible pathway for homeowners

  4. Establish a robust awareness and education campaign about deep home energy retrofits for homeowners

  5. Focus on neighbourhoods with the greatest impact based on design and timing of construction and most likely uptake
