Horizon Europe should also work
with and for European Youth!

In the framework of the designing of the new version of the programme for Research and Innovation for the period 2021-2027 (Horizon Europe), the European Commission has opened an online consultation (Horizon Europe Co-design 2021-2024) that can be filled as an organisation or as an individual until 8 September 2019.

garagErasmus considers that a Horizon Europe that works with and for Children and Youth could significantly contribute to the UN Sustainable Development Goals since Child related indicators can be found in at least 14 out of the 17 SDG’2. This possibility will be also complementary to other initiatives and tools such as Erasmus+, European Youth Strategy, Education and Training 2020 and the structural funds.

For all these reasons, by initiative of the University of Deusto and the University of Utrecht with some members of the Eurochild Children Council, and endorsed by garagErasmus and EDIW-Education for an Interdependent World, we invite you to fill in this Horizon Europe online Consultation.

2nd EYVOL kick-off meeting in Lisbon

Last 17th July 2019, the second kick-off meeting for the project EYVOL - “Empowering Youth Volunteers through Sport” took place in Lisbon, Portugal. The international coalition of organizations from the Olympic Movement, the United Nations, Academia and civil society met to continue the implementation phase of the two-year project co-funded by the European Union within the Erasmus+ programme and aimed at developing a common framework on “Sport Volunteerism”.

Announced from the United Nations Headquarters in November 2018, EYVOL will develop and implement innovative educational methods to train young volunteers on how to utilize sport to promote social inclusion, intercultural dialogue, peace building and socio-economic development.

During this second meeting, important practical aspects have been discussed by all partners on the research of volunteers; the dissemination phase and exploitation of results, especially the communication and the graphic design aspects and relevant coordination among the partners; as well as the evaluation and dissemination of the questionnaire whose objective is to develop a best-practices guide on volunteering for social inclusion through sport.
