Myfanwy Townsend Melanoma Research Fund Summer 2016 Newsletter

Dear All,

This summer we are as busy as ever, running campaigns, supporting initiatives, speaking at events and of course, raising awareness and educating as many people as possible about melanoma. Please find a snapshot below of our most recent activity, with links to more detailed information.

As always, thank you for your support; whatever you have done or are planning to do with us, we appreciate your help. These are very tough times for all non-profit organisations, however although donations are hard won, we appreciate every penny and will continue to wave the warning flag for melanoma in the UK.

Watch Your Back!

This year we launched Watch Your Back! a sun protection campaign to raise awareness to gardeners, targeting men over 50, who are most at risk from melanoma. The campaign was fronted by Charlie Dimmock and supported by The Garden Centre Association, The National Allotment Society and The Professional Gardeners Guild. We launched live on national radio and in 150 UK garden centres, with 12 regional centres hosting our skin health events.

Each entry requires a £1 donation which helps fund the work of the Royal Marsden Cancer Hospital and our support of the Melanoma Patient Conference (see below).
