Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon
I have given you, Joshua 1:3

“Many, O LORD my God, are Your wonderful works Which You have done;” Psalm 40:5a.  One year has passed since we opened the doors at Calvary Chapel Vista del Valle in Tijuana!  I have a lot more gray hairs and Jose Luis has a lot less hair but it has been worth everything to see the church full of kids and adults worshipping the Lord, studying the Word and their lives being changed by the power of the Holy Spirit.  The Women’s Bible Study and the Thursday night bible study are well attended and our Lunch Kitchen is serving 50+ kids a day!  This has all been made possible through your prayers and financial support.  Many of you have come down to serve with us in Vista del Valle.  We are eternally grateful to all and only wish you could see what we see!  Please visit our website to view the year-end slide show and other pictures.   Continue to pray for this work of the Lord Jesus and for many to walk in His ways.

What will heaven be like?  We all have our ideas.  I think maybe it will be like seeing 1,000 kids smiling because they all received a Christmas gift through the YUGO Project Joy program.  I planned on 300 gifts - the Lord sent over 900!  Five churches and many kids who live in shacks at the dump, by the railroad tracks and by the river received gifts, blankets and socks because of your generosity.  Well done team!

Most of these kids attend a daily feeding program and are also given spirutual food - taught to pray, know God and make Him known by their lives.  Little by little their parents begin to come to church as well.  It breaks my heart to see kids hungry and to see their parent living in situations that are less than acceptable.  I continue to pursue the vision that the Lord gave me years ago which is to raise children to know Jesus and have the opportunity for an education.  It is a difficult journey but I know there will be fruit from this generation.

Thank you to Kristy Struska and many others who partnered to make this year's Project Joy possible.  Kristy co-led with me and was the main photographer.  She and her husband Ron are YUGO missionaries who have brought house building opportunities to our Rosarito YUGO Ranch (ROC).  If you would like to organize a group to come build a small home for a needy family with children YUGO please contact them from the YUGO website  There are many great photos on our website of the children receiving gifts and of our YUGO kids serving in ministry.

The Movement Church from San Marcos comes every 3 months to serve with us and they have been coming for 4 years!  This month they hosted a women's conference at VDV and it was great!  Veronica Islas taught on inner beauty, the Movement provided lunch, child care and afternoon crafts and beauty treatments for the women.  Everyone was blessed and full of the Spirit and love.  On Sunday mornings, the Movement prepares large bags of food and delivers them to families in Rosarito, sharing the gospel.  People open up, accept prayer and often accept Jesus into their hearts.    1 Peter 3:3-4

On Tuesdays our women are studying Twelve Extraordinary Women of the Bible by John MacArthur.  I personally taught for two weeks on Eve (in Spanish).  It is fun and exciting to explore the Word, pray and of course break bread together.  Jose Luis is using Kay Arthur’s “Having a Real Relationship with God” on Thursdays.   We thank God for you and your partnership and prayers.  The goal for 2012 is to have a strong men's ministry and disciple and train men from Vista del Valle.  Also for several couple to get legally married so they can start serving at the church.

But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.  Hebrews 11:6
We started the church in Vista del Valle as a step of faith based on the Word that the Lord had given us.  We were stretched financially, emotionally and physically every month of the past year but we also saw God work miracles in the lives of others, in our lives and in our finances and faith level.  We started December 2011 in debt, all of which was spent on the church.  Thanks to many faithful supporters and generous year end givers, we have started 2012 with no debt and we have grown in our faith and our relationship with God.  For without God, what is there that matters?  We thank God for you and pray that the Lord will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and increase the harvest of your righteousness.  We are so thankful for your partnership and prayers for this ministry.  We are also thankful for the teens from Rosarito who are serving with us weekly as worship team and children's ministry leaders in Vista del Valle.  God is training them to be leaders and church planters!  The body of Christ working together for His glory!!   But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.  Matt. 6:33
