Following God in Tijuana

Some things aren’t as easy as we think!  The new lot in Fuentes del Valle was ready for the lunch kitchen container to arrive.  Life Mission Church planned a party with small toys for 150 kids to celebrate Kids Day 2016.  Much to our surprise, an old, ugly truck trailer on wheels arrived two days before the event!!  So, we rented tables, chairs and a big bouncy house and the kids had a blast anyhow.  The next month was filled with construction issues but thanks to Ray Meltvedt with Club Dust, in one week that old, ugly trailer was transformed into the AGAPE KIDS CLUB.  Children are now eating hot lunch daily from Outside the Bowl Ministry and the community is learning how to come together to serve.

The enemy does not like marriage but once again, God wins!  Marriage Tune-up Night with Bonnie & Jeff Johnson was powerful. We saw marriages healed, many tears, hugs and laughs.  Twenty couples walked out the doors with a new look on their marriage relationship and the blessing of the Lord.  Bonnie & Jeff’s marriage talk was spicier than the salsa but well received!

Let each of us please his neighbor for his good, leading to edification.” Romans 15:2   Miguel runs the store by our church.  Many of you have seen him in the little window where he sells chips and sweets.  This month, after 2.5 years, he decided to visit the church!  At the end of the service, Pastor Jose Luis shared the gospel and Miguel came to Jesus!  He returned the following week and the men continue show him Jesus and disciple him.  Miguel’s background is Jehovah's Witnesses and we are so excited to teach him about the Lord.
Two year old Sammy had a tumor in his only eye!  A doctor from St. Jude Hospital came to Tijuana and removed the tumor.  Sammy was fine the next day and the pathology report came back as no cancer!  Sammy also helped his dad prepare their lot for a new house built by Voyager’s Church in Irvine. Thank you to our California neighbors for caring for these little ones that God has entrusted to us.

April and May were full of celebrations, potlucks and a mini women’s retreat.  Thank you to all who helped with these events which bring the church closer together.  The body of Christ at Gracia del Calvario also says “thank you” for the part that you play in this ministry.

The youth are stepping up and serving, adults are being trained and growing spiritually and prayer groups are growing.  Your gifts help change lives!  You are awesome, we are grateful and God is pleased.

Please continue to pray for stamina, family time, provision and staff as the ministry grows.  We are excited to announce that Javier's adoption is final in Mexico!  We still need one more document to move forward on registering him with us as his parents which should take a week or two.  Then he needs a Mexican passport and a USA tourist visa to enter the USA.  As soon as that happens we will be celebrating big time!!!  Thank you for your continued prayers over the years and we are at the end of the tunnel but still have a few streams to cross and one big border.

P.S.  Have you thought about being a missionary?  Are you at a place in your life where that is not possible?  Did you know that by sending us to reach the poor and the lost in Mexico, your are helping to fulfill the great command in Matthew 28?  Some are called to go and others to send.  All of these ministries under Grace of Calvary cost money.  We have been able to keep doing this work by God’s grace and your donations.  You have the opportunity to be part of this ministry by making a one time gift or becoming a monthly ministry partner so that we can focus on following the call of God here in Mexico!
