Oh, hello there!

And welcome to my very first newsletter!

It is an exciting and busy time for me. My blog, which I started over two years ago, is getting more and more traffic each month. When I first began, I had no idea what I was doing or what I would write about. I figured no one would read it, except my mom of course. It was just a sounding board for my stories, thoughts, and feelings.

Slowly but surely I've been learning, growing, and evolving. Through this process I've realized that I have a lot to share and that I love creating genuine connections with people.

In May, I am proud to announce that my blog had 1000+ unique visitors and 3000+ page views! To me, this means that my posts are actually resonating with people. My hope is that they give something back to viewers whether it's motivation, inspiration, a new trail to try, or even just a few chuckles.

Everyone tends to give the Internet a hard time. Depending on who you ask, people are either too social, spending hours a day on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest and the likes, or "people these days don't know how to socialize!" That's a quote from an old man on the SkyTrain very obviously (and loudly) referring to me and the guy sitting next to me also using his phone.

I've thought about this contradiction a lot lately after diving head-first into the world of Twitter. I've realized that Twitter is amazing, or at least it can be if you use it properly. And the people on Twitter are amazing, if you connect with the right ones. It's a bit like sorting through an email inbox and weeding out the junk mail. There are a minority of people (or bots) who abuse the system, but overall it is such a useful tool to connect with the world!

First race as a BibRave Pro! Read my race recap here.

Through social media and blogging, I've met so many great people and runners from around the world and even a few local "tweeps" in person. I've received nothing but extreme positivity and support from the online community. It's also enabled me to take advantage of amazing opportunities like becoming a BibRave Pro and working with brands and races to provide reviews, giveaways, and promo codes.

I realize now that I'm rambling and should wrap things up. In summary, thank you for your support! I am excited to continue growing my blog and striving to make it better everyday. If you have any questions or feedback, please feel free to reply. I would love to hear from you!
