- Eat your greens! Advice from the University of St. Andrew’s is to eat more vegetables and fruit containing carotenoids. These compounds impart orange, red and yellow pigments to carrots, sweet potato, squashes and apricots; they are also found in many dark green vegetables such as spinach and kale. Students in the study who ate just two extra portions of vegetables and fruit a day developed a healthy and attractive skin tone over a six-week period
- Are you eating enough fat? Unless you regularly eat oily fish, nuts and seeds, your skin could be crying out for the natural oils that keep it soft, smooth and supple. Serve a colourful mixture of stir-fried vegetables with salmon for a skin-friendly meal
- It may be obvious but we all forget to do it! Water is essential to flush out impurities and keep skin hydrated.
