March - What's on!

While we may not be able to welcome you to the Seddwell Center this month, here is a glimpse into what our base members have been up to during lockdown, including several fun on-line events.
 
Andrea Hüber, sound therapist with Making Waves, has another  wonderfully relaxing online meditation for you - 'Sheltering Sounds - LOVE'. Plus learn more about the benefits of sound therapy and how sound resonates in our bodies in her video. You can also join Andrea at the Seddwell Center for private sessions or for one of her sound vibration circles when we reopen.

Sarah Löcker, with the Urban Sketchers Graz group, has regular sketching challenges that you can join in from at home - all levels welcome!



Sarah is also offering an on-line workshop on
Saturday, March 20 on how to how paint Magnolias with watercolour and ink . No experience needed! €15 (special on-line price)



Jyoti Kothari has a delicious Indian receipe to share: Matar  Paneer (peas and cottage cheese)

Ingredients:*2 cups frozen or fresh peas. *One big red onion finely chopped. *Two medium size tomatoes finely chopped. *One small packet of Paneer (can be brought in an Indian shop). * (1 cup) Half cup cream, *20 cashew-nuts powdered, *20 raisins. *Salt,  turmeric, coriander powder and Chili powder according to your taste.

Method: Take two cups of peas and microwave it till it gets cooked. Heat 1tbs Oil to fry one big red onion till it is golden brown in color . 1/2 tsp of ginger grated and 1/2 tsp of Garlic paste - fry them with onions for 1min, Add 1 tsp of turmeric ,1 tsp red chili and 1 tsp coriander powder and then add 2 medium size tomatoes chopped in small pieces. Cook it properly till thick gravy is formed by adding water little by little. Add salt and chili powder according to your taste. Add powdered cashew nuts. Put in the paneer and let it boil for five minutes. Add half cup of whipping cream {cooking cream) to it and bring it to one single boil and keep it aside
You can garnish this with fresh coriander leaves. Eat this dish with hot chapati or paratha,Rice.

A few tips for praticising your German listening skills. The Austrian Broadcasting station ORF have easy to understand news programs  - one with video and another with radio.

Sabine is also offering her German classes on-line via zoom.  Private lessons are also available. Contact here for more information or to register.

Kelly is organising a seed swap on March 27th!
 
I have lots of seeds for all different plants from edibles to flowers to edible flowers 🙂 Spring is coming and it's time to plant! We can also do houseplant/cuttings swap for those who don't have outdoor space.

  • Do you love to read, hike or take photos? We are looking for volunteers to organise and lead a book club, hiking group or photography club. Or perhaps you have other interests or talents you would like to share?
  • We are holding several 'Working Bee' events to help tidy up, renovate and get our spaces ready to open again! Contact us if you have time to lend us a helping hand ( max of 4 adults from 2 households at a time).
