This week we commemorate Our Lord’s passion, death, and resurrection, with services for Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and Easter Sunday. This email has all the information you need to participate in our services for Holy Week.

Maundy Thursday

Maundy Thursday is a commemoration of Jesus’ last supper with his disciples and his impending betrayal and arrest. We will not have communion, but we will have a Commemoration of Our Lord’s Last Supper, at which you will be invited to share in bread and drink as a memorial. If you would like to participate in this memorial, have bread and (grape) juice or wine on hand. The service will end with a Tenebrae, a reading of the Passion according to John’s Gospel as a series of 15 candles are slowly extinguished.

Worship Materials:

Good Friday

Good Friday is a commemoration of and reflection on the crucifixion of Jesus. This simple worship service of prayers and readings consists of a gospel reading, meditation, prayer, reproaches, and hymn singing, concluding with “Were You There.”

Easter Sunday

Easter Sunday concludes our Lenten journey and begins the celebration of the fifty days of Easter until Pentecost. For the first time in six weeks, our worship will ring with alleluias as we celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.
