LIFRC Weekly Community Update
October 4th, 2022
Happy Tuesday!
As we ease our way into fall, these final days of sun seem like something of a blessing, giving us all a much needed dose of vitamin D so we can stay strong and healthy, well into winter.
Speaking of health, this week we've decided to shine our light on an organization that we feel deserves to be mentioned for all the good they do within our county.
Dealing with chronic health conditions is stressful enough on its own.
Trying to coordinate services and advocate on your own behalf, shouldn’t add extra layers to that stress.
Because we believe deeply in the importance of advocacy for health and well-being, the LIFRC has started referring Lyn Health as an alternative option for the primary and urgent care needs of those managing complex or chronic health issues.
In case you've never heard of Lyn Health, they are human-centric healthcare providers created for people with multiple chronic conditions.
By listening, simplifying and partnering with providers, they deliver clinical services and support while coordinating your care through one single point of contact, and they do so 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
On October 11th, at the Lopez Island Community center, Lyn Health will be conducting FREE health screenings for all residents of San Juan County over the age of 13.
From 2PM-7 PM, health professionals will conduct glucose and blood pressure tests, as well as height and weight measurements, in order to determine your current health needs. These results will then be given to you on-site by a health professional who will discuss your confidential results with you.
You’ll also have an opportunity to learn more about Lyn Health and how they are helping people with complex medical conditions in San Juan County.
Please note that fasting is not required prior to the health screening. You should continue taking any medications directed by your physician, and make sure you are well hydrated.
