Healthy Landscapes are good for the environment.

Landscapes are often taken for granted. They are appreciated for their beauty, but many people don't understand the essential value they provide the environment.
  • Clean air. Grass and plants play a vital role in capturing dust, smoke particles and other pollutants to make our air cleaner. In fact lawns alone capture more than 12 million tons of dust (Georgia Turfgrass Foundation).
  • Protect bodies of water. When lawns are well cared for, they absorb unhealthy water runoff that might otherwise filter into bodies of water. It may be surprising to learn that an average, healthy lawn can absorb more that 6,000 gallons of water from a single rainfall (Journal of Environmental Quality).
  • Research shows that looking at plants and trees, even through a window, can reduce stress and lower blood pressure.
  • Walking in a natural environment with plants and trees has been shown to improve attention and memory.
  • Neighborhoods with tree lined streets and larger yards have reduced crime rates.

Galls on plants, no worries they're mostly cosmetic.

Galls are abnormal growths similar to warts on animals. They are not an indication of a serious problem unless the number of growths are very abundant.

Oak Leaf Galls:

What to do with all those leaves.
It wont be long before we get out that rake out and go to work. But you can put those leaves to work for you by leaving them in a pile and using it as a natural mulch in spring. Fallen leaves still contain a high percentage of beneficial nutrients such as carbon, potassium, and phosphorus.

Mulch is important for a landscape bed as it helps keep moisture in the soil for a longer period of time, preventing erosion from wind and/or water, and maintaining the biological life and soil surface temperature at an ideal level. We use a beautiful shredded chocolate hardwood bark mulch.

Have too many leaves or not enough time to collect them all.
