Dear Friends,

This summer has been a busy, exciting time at ChildServ, and August was no exception - collecting school supplies for the children in our programs, hosting groups of volunteers from corporate partners, and speaking at a volunteer conference.
Back to School Backpack Drive
Become a foster parent!

Open your heart and home to a child in our care, and help them to build a better life and reach their potential.
Moving your office this fall?

ChildServ is seeking donations of office furniture for its Chicago-South location.

Call Zulma Colon at (773) 867-7361 for more information.
Thanks to the generosity, kindness and support of our tremendous individual donors, corporate and faith partners, this year’s annual Back to School Backpack Drive was a huge hit!

All of the approximately 700 school-aged in our programs received the supplies they need to succeed in school and reach their potential.
PEP Monkey Island Field Trip
On August 24, more than 50 children and families in our 0-3 program, PEP, had a ball playing and working on motor skills - crawling, running and jumping - at Monkey Island in Melrose Park!

President and CEO Dan Kotowski stopped by to meet the kids and parents, passing out lemonade and pizza.
2016 Sasser in Action Service Days
In mid-August, more than 20 volunteers from our longtime corporate partner, Sasser Family Holdings, Inc, shared their time and talent in beautifying our group homes in DuPage County.

They braved excessive heat and waited out a few rain showers to landscape, clean and paint the homes (the youth actually picked out their rooms’ paint colors!) to help the teenagers in our care feel special, and grow and learn in safe, beautiful homes!

We are grateful to Sasser Family Holdings, Inc for their continued partnership, support and commitment to helping the children and families in our care to build better lives.
Dan Kotowski: ICOVA 2016 Keynote Speaker
On August 10th, our President and CEO, Dan Kotowski, served as keynote speaker at the Illinois Conference of Volunteer Administration’s (ICOVA) annual event in Chicago.

The conference’s theme, “The Times They Are a-Changin’”, allowed Dan to discuss the profound impact that volunteerism has had in both his professional and personal lives – he met his wife, Anne, as the volunteer coordinator of a nonprofit agency.

Dan also spoke about the need for nonprofits to get creative – adapt their message, expand outreach and engage new stakeholders – to survive and thrive in these uncertain times.

We thank ICOVA for the opportunity to speak and for the great work they are doing to encourage volunteerism in Illinois.
