Poetry Makerspace
Chautauqua Institution is bringing its Mobile Poetry Makerspace to the library! The Poetry Makerspace will be available on the library’s front lawn on July 10th and August 7th from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. In the event of rain, the event will be inside.

Participants will learn how to write their own Emerge poems using blocks of texts (excerpts) from CLSC books provided on the Poetry Makerspace website at poetry.chq.org. While participants will access the website and write their own poems on their mobile devices and desktops, iPads will be provided on-site to those willing to participate.

The Chautauqua Poetry Makerspace was created in partnership between Chautauqua Literary Arts and the Wick Poetry Center’s Traveling Stanzas at Kent State University. The Makerspace has been a unique staple of the Chautauqua Literary Arts program for the last three years.

The Chautauqua Poetry Makerspace is possible through philanthropic support, with special appreciation to Kate Dillon Hogan in memory of James A. Hogan.
