Baroque Music Festival Corona del Mar
38th Annual Season    June 17-24

“...full-hearted, moving and thrilling chamber music.”

Enjoy this personal note from artistic director Elizabeth Blumenstock introducing this year’s Festival.

Founded in 1981, the Baroque Music Festival presents five concerts over eight days every June in the Southern California communities of Corona del Mar and Newport Beach. Festive pre-concert music is performed al fresco starting 45 minutes prior to each performance, and afterward there is a wines and waters reception where performers and audience members may mingle.

The programs feature both familiar and seldom-heard music, unusual instruments, and exquisite orchestral, chamber and vocal works.

Fanfares! Our Festival Finale on June 24th, Handel’s Orlando, will be heralded by a pair of natural horns. South Coast Brass will play on the patio starting at 3:15 p.m., then early horn specialists Paul Avril and Loren Tayerle will perform fanfares and minuets from the Moravian Brass Duet Book. These anonymous pieces date from the early to mid-18th century and would have entertained in the evening after a day of fox hunting. Not to be missed!
