THE PROGRAMME
Leading through change
Tuesday 07 June
We'll kick off the course at 16:00 BST with a brief welcome and a round of introductions.
Our first speaker will be our Head of Leadership Development, Federica Cherubini, who will
present our 2021 Changing Newsrooms Report.
At 17:30 BST we'll have an interactive session with Alix Dunn, the founder of Computer Says Maybe, a firm building the facilitation capability of remote teams around the world. With her we'll talk about the importance of facilitation as a leadership skill and how we can build a healthy and efficient meeting culture. If you're curious, you might want to take this test before her session.
We'll wrap up the day with a group discussions sharing success stories and challenges from the last year. Please come prepared to share one example of a challenge you've been facing in the past year when it comes to managing your team and one example of something that has been working well.
The day will end at 19:30 BST.
Wednesday 08 June
On Wednesday, we'll regroup at 16:00 BST to share our thoughts on the previous day's sessions.
At 16:15 BST we'll have an interactive session with Pulitzer prize-winning journalist Mar Cabra and leadership coach Kim Brice, who will talk about team wellbeing and mental health and why it's as important as your work.
Then at 17:45 BST Federica will lead a Q&A on leading with empathy while navigating change with P. Kim Bui, the Director of Product and Audience Innovation at the Arizona Republic
We'll wrap up with a last group discussion in which we'll revisit the challenges you presented on Tuesday and share some practical takeaways from the course.
The course will be over at 19:30 BST.
