New Triple-Combination Therapy Announced!

Vertex Pharmaceuticals has announced a triple-combination therapy that, if approved, could vastly expand the treatment options for people living with CF.

This therapy is a combination of VX-445 (elexacaftor) and tezacaftor/ivacaftor (Symdeko®). The company is planning to submit the drug application to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration in the third quarter of this year.

This is great news for people with CF in Australia, as access to drugs like Kalydeco and Orkambi in the U.S. have historically paved the way for subsidised access to these treatments in Australia. Click here for more information.

Thanks For Helping Paint WA with Roses!

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

65 Roses Day was a huge success, thanks to an army of supporters from all over Western Australia! Thank you to our major supporters Wafex, South Metropolitan TAFE (some of the team pictured here) and Telstra for making the event possible.

Thank you to our ambassadors and community representatives for sharing your story and spreading awareness of CF in the media. Thank you to our hundreds of volunteers who helped prepare and then sell over 16,500 fresh colourful roses all over WA.

And finally, thank you to everyone who bought a rose on 65 Roses Day, to support people living with CF!

PCH Hospital Visits

Do you want a hospital visit from Cystic Fibrosis WA? Please call to let us know!

Unfortunately CFWA are not able to visit families at PCH to deliver hospital bags during an admission at the moment. We are working closely with PCH to try and come up with a solution to make sure nobody misses out, but in the meantime please give us a call on 08 6457 7333 if you would like us to come and see you.

Visits will occur on a Thursday so please let us know if you are in. We will still be leaving bags with PCH staff to deliver to all inpatients.
