The Essex West Achievement award is designed to recognise those young members between the ages of 10 and 18 years who stand out from the crowd and are an inspiration to others. They must have shown outstanding observance of one or more of the Guide Laws which demonstrates the true spirit of guiding. In exceptional circumstance this can also be awarded to recognise achievements of members of the younger sections.

Thank you to those who informed the County Office of the levy to be added to their level. The details have now been updated and you will be able to see your trial invoices from noon on 9th January 2014. You will be able to amend your invoices until noon on the 19th February 2014 and your invoices will then be available to pay from noon on the 21st February.

Our safeguarding e-learning module replaces the Keeping Children Safe programme by Educare and is aimed at all adult volunteers who are interested in developing their safeguarding knowledge.

Holiday Guiding Workshop
Sunday 2nd February

Would you like the opportunity to find out about a new type of flexible guiding - Holiday Guiding? 
The County have 3 spaces avaliable for Leaders who are interested in piloting this initiative in Essex West to attend a workshop in Barton School, Cambridge. All reasonable travel expenses will be paid, drinks included, please bring your own lunch.

If you are interested please contact Rosemary Jeffery no later than 6th January 2014.
The following leaders have recently completed their Adult Leader Qualifications.  On reading the through their books they have all been put together very comprehensively  with all the requirements and offer a well structured and exciting programme to the girls.  The New Leaders will all be a great asset to our County.   They should all be getting there certificate  and badge in the near future.
The Mentors have done a great job in helping them along the road.

Membership Systems Update
Membership System Updates are produced to keep you informed of developments, best practice and procedures for all Girlguiding membership systems, e.g. Join Us, Go!, Recruitment site and Subscription site. Even though this document contains information about systems that you may not use regularly it is good practice to read the document in its entirety. 
It would be much appreciated if District Commissioners and Level Contacts could pass on the information in this newsletter to anyone in their District that does not have access to e-mail. Section Leaders are asked to cascade to Young Leaders and D of E / V-Volunteers. The County Trefoil Guild Chairman is asked to cascade to at least one person in each Trefoil Guild. There are still some people not receiving their copy of the newsletter as their email address on Go! is incorrect. Please check and make sure that your details are up to date. If you do not wish to receive future copies of the E-Bulletin, please use the facility at the end of this issue to unsubscribe.
