Could you make someone’s day?
  • Is there someone who you would like to say a special ‘Thank you’ to?
  • Do you know a leader who is running a ‘Good Guiding’ unit?
  •  Do you know a member who has given excellent service to Guiding?
  • Do you know a young member who has done that ‘something special’?

Everyone appreciates being recognised for what they do, why not take the time to nominate someone for an award. Details of awards are on the website.
The next awards committee meeting is on 24th November when nominations will be discussed.
If you are unsure what is the most appropriate award please contact Sandra Munns.

Have any Unit/District/Divisions held an event to celebrate the Big Brownie Birthday this year?
If so could they let David Henderson have pictures/reports which will be included in the special newsletter for the BBB which is being planned for early January.

This purse was found at the County Big Brownie Birthday Day and would like to be reunited with its owner. Please share this picture with your girls and contact the County office for further information.

Please be reminded that once a girl has attended her 2nd meeting her record MUST be moved from Join Us to GO! The RSPB wants to know how our common bird species are faring around the country, and to get this information we are asking young people to help us by counting birds for just one hour between the 5th Jan and 13th Feb 2015.

Birds can be counted anywhere – school grounds, churchyard, or a local green space – wherever and whenever is convenient for you and your group.

To help, the RSPB is providing free ID posters to groups that sign up. Simply register your group - - and your poster will be sent out to you. We also have free downloadable resources on our website, such as activity sheets, poster blanks, and survey sheets.

Every group that registers and submits their results will receive a certificate from the RSPB, as well as a wildlife poster as a thank you for taking part.

So, if you are interested, please register. If you have any questions, please contact, or follow us on Twitter @RSPB_Learning

Enjoy your birdwatch!
