My name is Olivia Horner and I work at The Historic Dockyard Chatham and I look after our youth group visits. I am writing to introduce myself and The Dockyard to you, to see if The Dockyard may be of interest as an attraction to visit with groups such as yourselves.
The Historic Dockyard Chatham is located in Medway in Kent. It is the most complete Dockyard of the Age of Sail with over 400 years of maritime heritage to explore. Groups have the opportunity to visit 9 iconic attractions including three historic warships and a working Ropery, using traditional rope making skills. Also available to youth groups we have some fantastic additional activities to add on to a day visit, please see brochure attached for more information or visit our website
We also run an overnight stay programme on board HMS Cavalier our WW2 Destroyer. Sleeping in real ships bunks, groups will experience what life was like on board! Included within the experience is an evening of fun naval activities, led by our friendly team, providing a fascinating insight into the challenges of life at sea.
I am really keen in spreading the word regarding visits to The Dockyard as we are the perfect day out for uniformed youth groups. If you think that any of the above would be of interest to your groups and you have any advice for me in how to contact your members that would be greatly appreciated.
If I can be of any further help, please do not hesitate to contact me on the details provided below.
I look forward to hopefully welcoming your groups in the future.
Many thanks for your time.
