Do you have any budding entertainers in your unit? Would they like the opportunity to perform in front of a live audience? Email the County office with details and they could be performing on Thursday 29th June at the Queens Theatre, Hornchurch.
Don’t delay, register today…
Neighbouring Counties have now been invited to join us as we still have spaces available to book onto this FREE Under 25s Leadership Event happening near Stanstead on the 21st-23rd July 2017!
This jam packed weekend will give the girls and young women of Essex West a taste of what leadership looks like and the amazing opportunities available to them in Girlguiding. It will also be a great chance for them to meet other Girlguiding Members in the County aged 14-25 and make new friends at this fun filled event.
To book a place on this weekend please RSVP register Eventbrite:
What’s even better is that this event will be *FREE* for Members to attend as associated costs will be covered by the Improving Access to Guiding Project, with thanks to the Pears Foundation. Spaces are limited however and will be allocated on a first come first served basis.
We need your help!
The Improving Access to Guiding team will shortly be commissioning designs for a set of national volunteer induction resources, based on the resources trialled in Essex West. You can find them here. We would love to get your comments and suggestions before we send them to print!
Come and join us for an evening of cheese, wine and discussion
On: Friday 16th June, 7:30-9:30pm
At: Holiday Inn, Brentwood CM14 5NF
All are welcome. We would particularly love to hear from new volunteers and those who have been involved in supporting new volunteers over the last year. And if you came to our feedback event in November, don’t hesitate to come again – we want to know if the changes we made on the back of your comments then are what you hoped to see! We’re also looking forward to showing you our brand new volunteering videos which you can use for your recruitment and inductions.
Hope to see you on the 16th!

The next BP Adventure will be Friday 20th to Saturday 21st October 2017
We are looking at staying at Pax Lodge (one of the world centres) in North London on the Friday night, having a tour of Pax Lodge Saturday morning, then going to watch Annie at the Piccadilly Theatre and then being home by early evening.

These are what we are thinking but in the light of recent events in London not sure how parents will feel. If you have any girls who will be ready for their Adventure by then and they would be interested could you please ask them to email me on by Saturday 15th July 2017.
Hilary Frankton.
What's On in Essex West
Essex West Skills Pool
As well as updating the name of this useful tool to better reflect its offering, a few more activities have been added recently too. So if Geocaching, or learning some Welsh, is on your girls ‘to do list’ then take a closer look…
We’ve also had a request from a Guide unit for an evening on Map Reading, so if anyone is able to offer this as a one off activity then please let us know!
To join, or book an activity, from our Skills Pool please contact Pat Parsons for more information.
It would be much appreciated if District Commissioners and Level Contacts could pass on the information in this newsletter to anyone in their District that does not have access to e-mail. Section Leaders are asked to cascade to Young Leaders and D of E / V-Volunteers. There are still some people not receiving their copy of the newsletter as their email address on Go! is incorrect. Please check and make sure that your details are up to date. If you do not wish to receive future copies of the E-Bulletin, please use the facility at the end of this issue to unsubscribe.
