Essex West Volunteer Pool

Last month we asked you to share our new Volunteer Pool initiative with friends and family so that we could showcase a range of activities for your girls to try out this year. We have built upon the already popular Arts and Crafts Team’s offering and are pleased to advise you of the following areas now on offer for you to book via Pat Parsons.
It’s not too late to add yours, your friends or families, skills to the list, as each month we will be including an updated version of the Volunteer Pool on the website and in this eBulletin along with some feature pieces too on what’s been going on across the County.

Please visit the Essex West Website for further information on this and to check out what else the Improving Access to Guiding Team have been working on with the County.
Join Us Trial

Calling all Commissioners and Join Us coordinators!

If you haven’t yet signed up to the Join Us trial as part of the Improving Access to Guiding project, it’s not too late to be part of it! If you’d be willing to let us contact new volunteers on Join Us on your behalf, and send them our new welcome email and questionnaire, please opt in by registering here.

The goal of the questionnaire is to find out at the very start whether there’s a particular unit that they have already agreed to help at, and whether they have particular skills and motivations that will help match them to the perfect role.

Once they’ve replied, we’ll connect them with their District Commissioner (or the person responsible for meeting new volunteers in their district) who can continue the process as normal - but with extra info from the questionnaire! And we might contact you about trying out a new system for recording the volunteer’s progress – which will help us develop recommendations for a new Join Us being developed at HQ.

If you don’t opt in though, we won’t contact any new volunteers in your district. So don’t forget to let us know here if you’re willing to take part!
DINNER/DANCE
What a brilliant evening.
Thank you to all who came along to our very first Dinner Dance.
We have received a great many  ‘thank you’ e-mails and cards following the event and requests to make this an annual event.
So yes, we will add it to the Calendar for next year.

It would be much appreciated if District Commissioners and Level Contacts could pass on the information in this newsletter to anyone in their District that does not have access to e-mail. Section Leaders are asked to cascade to Young Leaders and D of E / V-Volunteers. There are still some people not receiving their copy of the newsletter as their email address on Go! is incorrect. Please check and make sure that your details are up to date. If you do not wish to receive future copies of the E-Bulletin, please use the facility at the end of this issue to unsubscribe.
