We all lead busy lives and sometimes find that we can fit in a training at the last minute.  If this is the case then contact the County Office via phone or email  making sure that your message gets through before 12pm and they will tell you if there is a place available. Under no circumstances should you contact the venues or the trainers direct.  All trainings and events are booked through the County Office unless you are told otherwise. Please pass this message onto other leaders who might not be able to pick this up and make sure they know the address and telephone number of the County Office as well as details of our web site. Some still think the County Office is at Went House and the Girlguiding Essex West web site has all details of our trainings and events.

Good afternoon.
I have recently run a Tatty Bumpkin session at 5th Chantry Brownies in Billericay as part of their Centenary 9 part challenge and I'm wondering if this is also something that would appeal to your Brownies.
The aim of the activity in this instance is for the girls to look at how they can improve themselves by taking care of themselves, learning to take time to relax and look after their bodies by doing yoga.
I will give an introduction to the activity and talk about what it means to me and then take the girls will go on a musical/movement type imaginary journey which will incorporate the yoga moves/stretches with elements of focus on breathing.  As part of the session I will balance period of energetic exercises with more sedate poses and will encourage the girls to both work on their own and with partners.
This is the feedback I received from Sian at 5th Chantry Brownies:
"Thank you Michaela,  from all the 5th Chantry Brownies for helping them complete the Yoga activity as part of the Big Brownie Birthday Challenge.  You took us on an interesting journey exploring our imagination and bodies, your gentle style had the girls enthralled.  The yoga moves bound into a story really appealed to the girls but was challenging enough to keep the older ones engaged which was perfect, you really listened to the brief.  A real success!"
I am available most evenings, so do let me know if this is something that would interest your Brownies.
best regards

I am Education Officer at Bedfords Park and at the end of April, we are launching a brand new conservation club called Greenbunch. Greenbunch is suitable for those in your Guide units (aged 11-18). The sessions run one Sunday each month from 10am-1pm. During the sessions, those that attend will gain practical conservation experience and will also work towards gaining Bronze, Silver and Gold Essex Wildlife Trust awards.  Please see attached poster for full details on our Greenbunch sessions. I would be grateful if you could pass this information on to the guide units in Havering.
I would also like to offer to you, a free talk from either myself or Lucy (who will be running the Greenbunch sessions) to any interested Guide unit about Essex Wildlife Trust, what we do and the Greenbunch sessions. This talk would be able to take place at your meeting place during the summer term, or you would be welcome to come to Bedfords Park for the talk if you would prefer.
Please do ask the units to get in touch with me if they would like to arrange a talk to their unit. I look forward to hearing from you.
